Iconic and Local Brands Partner with Bend Racing for Expedition Oregon Adventure Race
Numerous local brands and worldwide industry-leading partners have joined Bend Racing in offering scholarships, stage prizes, massive deals, and more to the racers and volunteers of this month's 85-hour ultra endurance adventure race Expedition Oregon. Included in the list of iconic brands are Ellsworth, Alpacka Raft, Leki, Gear Junkie, prAna, Mountain Khakis, Edelrid, and more.
Ellsworth Bike extended a $2,000 USD gift certificate to all racers for a new mountain bike. Any bikes ordered before the race also include a new Scicon MTB bike bag. Ellsworth is also the mountain bike stage partner and will provide the top team with a prime stage prize as well as a free carbon Enlightenment frame for the top female racer.
In addition to gifting a 2017 Gnu (valued at $1,700) for the prize pool, Alpacka Raft is offering all racers 15% off any raft of their choosing.
Leki offered a team comprised of young Swedish and Danish athletes a $1,000 scholarship to assist with the entry fee and travel costs. They have also extended a 20% off offer on their trekking, trail running, and furniture products. As the official trekking sponsor of the race, they have also offered four sets of trekking poles to the top team of the trekking leg.
Sponsoring the orienteering stage, GearJunkie is offering carefully selected prizes to the top navigators. They are also an official race sponsor.
Edelrid jumped in to provide a 25% discount on climbing gear and, alongside prAna, are sponsoring the ropes stage with a climbing package going to the top team. prAna also extended a $1,000 scholarship to a veteran racing team from Uruguay and Argentina.
Mountain Khakis is outfitting the top team of the first stage, provided a $30 gift certificate for all racers, and as the official volunteer sponsor, is outfitting all volunteers.
The local Bend community has also stepped up to make this one true Bend race. Local partners include Visit Bend, Deschutes Brewery, Red Tank Cider, Caboost Kombucha, Paleo Eats, Lone Pine Coffee Roasters, Rebound Physical Therapy, Recharge Sport, Entrada Lodge (soon to be the LOGE), Pine Mountain Sports, REI Bend, and Portland-based Organic Valley.
Paleo Eats is an official race sponsor and also offered one team a $1,000 scholarship.
Rebound Physical Therapy has generously donated a free physical therapy session to 20 racers. Many will take advantage of this offer to loosen up before the race and develop skills that have the potential of improving their performance during the race.
From room discounts and gift certificates to finish line treats and the ultimate swag bags, Bend has truly come together to offer these racers the ultimate Central Oregon experience.
