TA Bins/Bags
-
Teams will each get on TA bin/bag (staged at the start/TA2/Finish.) No size limit. Bikes will be at this TA.
-
They will also get one paddle bag for packrafting gear (boats, paddles, PFD's etc). This Bag and everything in it must be carried from the put in, on the paddle leg, and back to TA2. So a lightweight bag is ideal. Or even straps holding everything together.
-
Remote TA bag. Small bag holding trekking shoes, food, water...whatever you can fit in 60L or less. This will be at TA 3, before the trek-O course. You will see it at the start and finish of that leg.
The course will be fast, fun and mostly flat, mostly trail with a tiny bit of pavement, and some off trail nav for a bit here and there. More for the pro points.
The weather is forecast to be great, (sunny and high of 70) but the water might be a little cold. So it is recommended to put some dry clothes in TA bin for after the paddle leg if you hate the cold. Most teams will be starting the paddle around 10AM, and off the water before noon.
Mandatory gear for this race is VERY Minimal (as listed on race site). No headlamp, glowsticks, or climbing gear necessary.
The MTB is classic XC non-technical singletrack. Fast and Flowy and super fun.
Pro points may require fording of shallow water.
The course has a lot of CPs, so you should have fun finding them! Maps will be on non-WP paper, so come prepared for that. Each team will get two complete sets of maps.
